Q&A Session
Engage in a Q&A session with Roxann Dawson, known for portraying B’Elanna Torres in Star Trek: Voyager. From discussing the upcoming Voyager reunion on Star Trek: The Cruise VIII to sharing her current goals, Roxann can’t wait to join us onboard The Un-Conventional Voyage in 2025!
You’ve been a part of Voyager cast reunions “on land” before, of course, but what are you looking forward to about celebrating with your castmates aboard ship with cruise fans?
The best part is the reunion. I love seeing all my castmates and other Star Trek friends. I am working right now with Alexander Siddig on the Apple show “Foundation” He is marvelous!
B’Elanna often seemed to be so stressed out aboard Voyager, but we know she did enjoy the Resort program on the Holodeck once. Do you think new mom B’Elanna ever relaxed enough to enjoy a cruise with Tom—or is “Barge of the Dead” too much of a memory?
B’Elanna would never enjoy a cruise, even with Tom. I can see her on an exploration in the Himalayas with Tom, and Baby strapped to her back.
Can you give us a bit of a hint of any surprises you have for the fans aboard Star Trek: The Cruise VIII?
I have directed Dark Matter based on Blake Crouch’s amazing book. And I am still finishing up the new season of Foundation. I am fully involved, it seems, in science fiction and loving the story telling!
What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
Being home with my family and my dogs.
What goal are you working toward right now?
My goal is to finish this season of Foundation. We are currently shooting in Prague for a few more months. It is remarkable that we are still afloat, with the obstacles of the pandemic, the writers strike, the actors strike and then a studio shutdown. I am surrounded by amazing talent and an exceptional team who are dedicated to telling this story. It has been a difficult journey but I am so proud of our work and our ability to survive these difficult circumstances.
